Last month, to celebrate its first Grammy nomination, San Francisco’s Om Records threw a lavish, invite-only party at Los Angeles’s Supperclub. Andy Cato and Tom Findlay of Groove Armada headlined—it was their album Black Light that earned the trophy nomination—and guests included labelmates Dirty Vegas and KCRW music director Jason Bentley. Now, the label has put together a lush video recap of the event, one that pretty perfectly captures the label’s mandate for good vibes and subtle glamour.
Sounds of Om 2011 is the label’s latest compilation; featuring core signees Dirty Vegas, Groove Armada, Underworld, Samantha James, and more, plus remixes from the likes of Michael Woods, Kaskade, Mike Monday, and Tommie Sunshine, it’s a comprehensive look at one of the West Coast’s best loved labels. For more new material, check out Dirty Vegas’ ”Changes 1” and ”Changes 2,” featuring remixes from Felix Da Housecat, DJ Ortzy, Julien Nolan & Red-Eye, In Flagranti, Shiny Objects, and Body Language.
